The Olympic Regeneration of East London in the Official Discourse. The Preconditions for the Construal of Public Space

Drawing on Hannah Arendt’s discussion on politics, Robert Dahl’s interpretation of plurality, and Colin Crouch’s analysis of “post-democracy”, the work elaborates on a basic notion of democratic public space. The aim is to understand the extent to which the texts framing the structure of governance for the urban renewal of East London set out the preconditions for the creation of a democratic urban space.
